Oh man, like you, I never invested much in Jo (but oh, Ellen - I've always loved Ellen), yet that death scene absolutely floored me. I was crying (not just the odd tear, either, I actually cried, dammit). Actually I know I identified strongly with Ellen (because, d'oh, mother), and I was also thinking "no way will she let that happen". Until it became clear she was staying, because she knew she couldn't save her daughter, so it wasn't worth going on. Which, hey, I can relate to, entirely.

Anyhow, what bothered me more than "they killed the women" is "they killed those women"! I loved Ellen, always thought of her as the great survivor, and the ranks of the hunters are getting pretty thin.

BTW - are you guys saying there isn't a new SPN until mid-January?

Eeek

Yes, no new eps until January. It's the CW, they haven't figured out how to broadcast tv shows yet.

I have no problems w/ people being sad that Jo and Ellen specifically died, CLEARLY, since I feel the same. It was heartbreaking all the way around.
