I never post anymore, so I guess I will attempt to post more by using this space as a journal until I have time off to write again.
I spent most of today in a hospital pathology lab. THIS SHIT IS SO COOL I JUST CAN'T EVEN. I dissected a cancerous testicle and uterus. First I got to palpate them to feel the tumors inside. I got to burst ovarian cysts and measure the amount of fluid in them. I learned what a normal cervix vs an abnormal one looks like. I looked at various cancerous biopsies and was taught how to identify different sorts of cancer cells.
My favorite part of school is actually pharmacology, but I think if I had a different life pathology might have been for me. I find it all fascinating. There's just so much KNOWLEDGE there. I like facts and differentiating, so pathology could have been my thing if I had a better guidance counselor in school. (Don't get me started on that.)
I also filled out my fist incident report as one of my patients had new wounds due to not having his TED hose removed for three days.
AREN'T I EXCITING?
Oddly enough, I actually really love nursing. This is more of a shock to me than to anyone in my life who are all "what? of course!" FO, jerks!
Tomorrow I work in the wound clinic and I'm really looking forward to it. I know I'll work in hospice until I get my MS, but I really love the hands on of wound care.
I had a dude fall out on me today and I managed to catch him in a chair before he hit the floor even though he was more than a foot taller than me. Success.
Yeah, whatever, one of the girls in my class is in HP fandom and has a snitch tat. She was asking me about Pottermore yesterday. I think I might be about to let fandom just all hang out with my RL. I just can't bring it to care that people know I'm a geek, tbh.
