syncope at 10:04pm on 27/02/2011So far my favorite lines came in the same act, James Franco saying "Congratulations, nerds" and Cate Blanchett saying "That's gross."
This is the first year since I can remember that I gave a shit about this at all. Mostly, I never expect anything good to win, so I will be/was not surprised when I think the choices suck/ed.
OH MY GOD, SPOKE TOO SOON, FANVID MONTAGE. HOLY SHIT. This is probably the coolest thing to ever/will ever happen on an Oscar broadcast. "Doesn't he own a shirt? Why would he own a shirt?" HELL YES.

Anne Hathaway hi-fiving the kids from the PS whatever at the end just made this show. I think maybe that sums this Academy Awards up: odd authenticity that was out out of nowhere.
