So I can't watch it, but I'm willing to bet that the rightwing nutbag network is probably having a FIELD DAY with Obama and Co worshiping false idols because of the native physician praying at the shooting memorial. Also, he didn't bow his head. Wait, is that *better* because he's not praying to a fake god but just witnessing someone else do it? (If you missed it, there was a native blessing at the beginning of the shooting memorial.)
I can't believe the Sarah Palin thing was anything but orchestrated to deflect the debate from the shootings to something totally scandalous she can then brush under the carpet with her next soundbite so that the shootings are disassociated from her. Like I said in Kita's comments, not because she has two brain cells to rub together and would have ever thought of doing this, but by her handlers whose job it is to make money (I am still reserving judgment about whose deeper agenda the Tea Party bs is ~conspiracy theory). The 24 hr newscycle is complicit in this.
ITT: immigration strategies/uncontrolled weeping over what's going on in the world today.
And other horrible things: I'm pretty sure you know about the Queensland flooding by now. Fandom is responding like the awesome unifying force we can be. I haven't signed up because I still feel guilty for signing up for help_haiti during my writer's block phase (speaking of bad things, one year anniversary, hello), but you can! And we can all bid.
