I'm feeling a bit nostalgic for S1 today because my iPod is full of hate and decided to mock me. As a finale gift, have a song I first posted in S1 (aka The Halcyon Days Where We All Liked the Show). Corb Lund - Apocalyptic Modified Blues
It's become something of an unpopular fannish opinion to admit that you like this show. I don't watch Supernatural ironically for the lulz; I watch it because I'm insanely invested in the shit. So much so that I put up with fannish grudges and jf wanking and the craycray to read the one lj post by someone who actually enjoys it each week (this is usually missyjack). Every year we host a big party for fans to hang out and bitch about Mary or profess their undying love of John or dissect the show as a Hero Myth. I do that because I love Sam and Dean and Castiel, too.
There is a very good chance I met you because of Supernatural. If not, I might have reconnected with you after a drift apart. This show brought me you, so even if rocks fall and Castiel, Bobby, and Sam all die tonight, I will have my entitled fanpoodle freak out and gnash my teeth, but I'm here until the bitter end. If you are, too, we can hang.
Supernatural isn't just about what happens on the television screen each week for me. I think it's out of fashion to admit that. I won't ever tell you "it's just a tv show." I promise you that. One request, though, please don't take lj down if Castiel dies tonight, I need my crack.
