It is probably very uncharitable of me to think, when confronted with the newest round of "support dreamwidth by leaving lj!" I hope they finally move this time and yap about it all the time over there instead of over here. What it quite simply comes down to is that there's going to be a rift between people who are not interested in moving and those who are interested in moving. Never the twain shall meet? This remains to be seen. But at the end of the day moving/not moving is for many people a very political issue and related to ideals, so pro-DWers necessarily come off as holier-than-thou and motivated by an idealism that some others don't share. It's the same as any other kind of political movement--some people will be for you, some people will be indifferent, and some people will be forcefully opposed to you. We *can* coexist, but not everyone seems to want to. I'm starting to feel that if the DW move ever *does* happen (doubtful, tbh, unless lj shuts down or is taken over by Glenn Beck) that I'll just go back to blogging instead of moving. There's a lot more freedom in that format--for example I could post these remarks on a blog and not even consider hitting the delete button because I know that people are going to be pissed off my my comments even before I make them. WHINE WHINE.
Now, how about something pleasant? Under the cut: ( cupcakes and animals. )
It's so dreary here today, rainy and foggy. Blah, I say. Oh god, I better go set the DVR for The Pacific before I completely forget...
Has someone done a post-Olympics skating recs post?
ETA: be careful of clicking the comments if you're around your mom or at work.
