While gathering decorations for the Wincon Apocaprom, the notion of including Sarah Palin merch as part of the End Times decor was floated. Sadly, procuring said merch turned out of be unfeasible since I don't know anyone who supports Ms Palin in ANY WAY. Even the Republicans (I do know some.) I mention this 1. because it's SUPERNATURAL DAY (and oddly I care again this season) and 2. I just saw that the presales of Palin's book have landed her on the top of the bestseller's list. Are all these orders coming from Hell, where I assume her fanbase lies? Maybe it's the French who like to see America suffer (sorry, French people, but this week you're gonna have to take it on the chin; it sucks being lumped with the morons of your own nationality, I would know, being American and all).
I cut my hair off last week and I'm trying to decide still if I'm really P.O.ed with this or if it's cool since I'm getting old anyway and should have shorter hair (this is an odd prejudice of unknown origin that people seem to have). I can't even tie it in a knot it's so short (this is really short for me, I am a Long Hair Person). Oh well, fuck it, maybe I'll figure out what to do with the curly ass mess this time around (complete fabrication, I will wear it in a ponytail until it grows back out).
What the shit is this? Seriously. The squeaky wheel gets the grease, sure, but what kind of policies are in place in schools that allow for one or two morons to determine what books will and will not be placed in school libraries? I mean, get real. I know people who think Harry Potter is satanic because they do magic--these sorts of people should not be making decisions for OTHER people's children. Fine, if they want to create little serial killers in the making with their own offspring, whatever, but leave the other kids alone with their books of whoring and demon worship, sheesh. (When I was a kid I had a cousin who converted to some kind of snake handling crazyass puritanical Christian sect. She wouldn't let her kids watch such demon-infested cartoons as THE SMURFS. When anyone else in the family had the kids we made sure they watched Mtv and other "questionable" programming or read books with dragons on the cover. Your own families are undermining you, fundamentalist crackpots.) I suspect these same people who want to ban YA lit from school libraries also support the Tea Party movement. Why can't they just send their kids of Christian school like all their church friends?
( Speaking of Supernatural... )
Ok, I have to go try on my prom dress. I think I'm not even going to bother with shoes, just wear wool socks (homemade of course). What? Julia, do not start.
