A couple years ago we were having some kind of family forced togetherness event and one of my uncles was sitting in the living room while others of us were in the dining room. The house has an open floorplan so we could converse back and forth between areas (converse = scream). So at some point Jeopardy had come on and my uncle was BLAZING through the answers. Several of my relatives did Scholars Bowl either in college or high school or both (oy) and everyone is INSANELY competitive (besides me and like two other people, I know, you're thinking WHAT? I honestly am one of the most mellow people in my family, your fear is a natural evolutionary adaptation). So at some point my uncle turns the ones of us in the dining room and is all "I HAVEN'T MISSED ONE YET!" and as one we chorused "It's the teen tournament!"
The next year, we were having another get together and this exact scene was repeated by my mother.
Drinking may have been involved in both cases. Anyway, this anecdote brought to you by me walking through the living room as the Jeopardy teen tournament was on tv.
I am having what could easily be termed a bad couple of weeks. HAHAHAHA <--- gallows humor at it's finest. 2009 is the year that keeps on proving that when you think "ok, lived through that, I'm good to go, fortified for whatever can come next!" BZZZZZZZ, wrong! I don't need internet hugs or anything, but I would ask on the behalf of people in your life, the next time you're thinking of doing something really awful? Just don't. Do us all a favor and be good for once.
So of course to distract me Amber talked to me about Star Trek. I may have actually even started it. Yesterday I was reading Wincest fic if you can imagine that shit. YES! I really was! It didn't stick, but I was reading it for a few minutes there. Anyway, Amber has a thing for Christine Chapel. Idek. OH, now I remember, she ever to subtly drove-by to remind me how long I have on my STBB. RIGHT. SUBTLE. I must have promised to write her something ridiculous.
This is hetfic that is not OFC fic. Yeah, really, you got me there.
While I was writing this, Amber was doing that whole internet linkydink skip around and she dug up a website that claims that Jim Kirk and I have the same Meyers-Briggs catagory. I lolled.
Anyway, I wrote this to entertain Amber, but if you're entertained, too, awesome, I am happy.
