Ahhhhhhhhh, Star Trek...do we have a critical mass of fangirls yet? I feel we've tipped to 60% of fandom being at least Trek-curious, Trek-adjacent? AND we're all so happy! Two topics I discussed w/ Amber yesterday--1. what will be the first BIG wank (there are already little ones) in rebootverse, Kirk/Spock old skoolers being cheesed off by the children or Spock/Uhura fans going apeshit about Kirk/Spock shippers ignoring Nyota (notice, please, my ship is safely not involved in this AT ALL, see how awesome that is?); 2. how the obsession can safely be refueled by all the old shows AT LEAST until Spring or so. Personally, I'm watching Voyager now and lolling the whole way. I have to say that it was only a matter of time that fandom turned to eat it's own tail by "rediscovering" Trek as the ENTIRE UNIVERSE is one huge crackfic. I mean, damn, internal consistency? who needs that shit--TIME TRAVEL, BLACK HOLES, BLACK HOLES THAT CAUSE TIME TRAVEL, GASEOUS CLOUDS IN SPACE THAT AREN'T CALLED GOD BUT COULD BE GOD! Forget it, you had me at Chris Pine, Star Trek, I hope you like me 'cause you're fucking stuck with me now!

I also think I need to warn people who friend me about the unfortunate truth of my personality: I'm not much of a committer. I like something for like 3.5 weeks, get bored, and take a new lover. This is just the facts. You can friend me for the 3.5 weeks I write Chris/Zach slash and defriend me when I get into My Little Pony fandom, it's cool, I don't take it personally, especially because I have an unwieldy fl myself since I never defriend people unless they kill my cat OR make the egregious error of being wrong on the internet.

I don't make a lot of recs (this is because people take it personally when you rec someone else and not them, and I just don't want to deal with that shit...in this case I don't even know this person!), but read this! The Doctor here just...yes, this is that guy. Hrmph, David Tennant. Read this.

I'm considering doing some fandom husbandry and running a challenge. What should it be? Original Character Challenge? Minor Character Challenge? Post-Film Challenge?
