Because I just don't know how to be normal, I just decided to go on tour with my friend in the fall. If you knew this friend, you'd be very afraid for the continuation of life as we know it.

Fuck it, I almost died a couple months ago, I'm totally going on tour in October! You will be at the shows.

Something I don't understand: Star Trek is set hundreds of years in the future. Why are people making all kinds of contemporary social assumptions about the way people would interact? In our own lifetimes and the lifetimes of our parents we've seen great social change. I don't really get the assumptions about monogamy that are going down in debates about the reboot. I do understand people feeling like fans are idiots who don't understand the implications of their fanfiction decisions. But fundamentally I feel that when a soceity has to confront such issues as interspecies relationships, that soceity probably has also has to/has had discussions about monogamy.

Am I alone here?

I suppose not everyone uses fanfic as a way to deliver social messages. Why not? Star Trek used a television show to do it.

I go out and when I come home, my mom is crying over Grey's Anatomy. We had plans, I guess that's shot to shit now. I have serious grievances with that pos show, for real. Her response is directly related to our real life, but will anyone listen to me when I tell people not to watch romance novella medical dramas whose entire point is to make you feel like shit? You can answer that for yourself.
