(no subject)
Ok, what do we think of Dreamwidth? I've known since lj dawned that one day there would be another mass migration and so on and so on, like the punchline of a bad scifi book. The question I have is: is there a feeling that this is going to be the Outta LJ Project or is this just a little wave of certain people moving like all the others that came before? Because I'm not seeing mass enthusiasm for this project, more like boosterism by people who are very involved in it. Is that because the hard launch hasn't happened yet, or is that because people are blase about the whole thing? Tell me what you think.
And on other matters:
I HATE when Jensen and Jared attend Cons because there is always some crazyass shit that goes down when they do and then everyone gets so occupied with how fucking crazy Those People Are and it's like--dude, they do it every time. If it isn't dissing the girlfriends, it's over-fanning the girlfriends or bizarre fetishizing of their pets or making inappropriate remarks about their families or something. These are just the people in our boat with us. I know they snuck up on us like Dracula crossing the Atlantic, but there's no shore to be had aside from Jonas Brothers Island (apparently), so have another cocktail and talk to your berthmate about angels or jump overboard. You know those cousins you hate? Yeah, you see my further metaphor strangling, right?
I also think Misha Collins is winding people up for his own amusement. I wouldn't be surprised if he's an old time ljer who posts meta about the show and spends an inappropriate amount of time on stupid_free.
If I was bothering to be interested, I would be seriously wondering what happened with Pete and Ashlee and those rumors of them breaking up already (it's inevitable, but I thought they'd maybe make it to the kid's 1st birthday). That shit was on XM bumper news, so that's a pretty huge rumor, not just TMZ bullshit. I think my lack of interest signals that I'm now firmly back in SPN as my primary fandom. Or maybe recipes are my primary fandom as I seem to spend most of my time online on chow.com reading stupid threads about recipes gone wrong.
