So when I am online, I pretty much constantly talk to the legendary sparkeymonster, and sometimes that means I get links to cute arboreal animals with liquid eyes and sometimes that means I get linked to the most heinous content on these here internets. Today, she brings us all Fidel's blog. (I'm from Florida, so if you're a big time Fidel-hater, save it. I've heard it all before with tap shoes on it.) Click, click, he's rambling on about Rahm Emmanuel's name! He has his facts wrong, but that's not surprising as he's 753 and probably half blind and deaf, but the musings are sociologically intriguing. The conclusions I think he's drawing are: Obama rocks and the capitalists are reaping what they sewed. I can't say he's wrong in either case.

What's going on with the idiots who cook up PETA campaigns? On how many levels is this shit wrong? It seems like in the last several years PETA has done more for the steak of the month club than they have for anti-puppy mill activism. YARG! (I knew vegans were idiots, this is what eating tofu scramble does to your brain.)

I had a list of things to do today, but we're under a tornado watch now and it's just better to stay inside than have to listen to the litany of how I could have died later.

I was going to link to the Shakesville thread about rom-coms, but then I ended up typing up a rant about what I think is Wrong With Feminists Today. I don't even LIKE rom-coms, which is why I was going to link to that, but then when I tried to read the comments I ended up getting all enraged. What's wrong with Adam Sandler, in particular? I don't like his "comedy" or anything, but I would say he's not a leading cause in the current oppression of women (is he secretly behind a PAC to repeal women's right to vote?). I also saw 27 Dresses and thought it was pretty standard romance fare, the only egregious issue being the sister's behavior--which, sadly, I think was actually not all the unlikely, some people do suck, you know. I just find there to be a lot of back-patting and hivemind with feminist bloggers. I suppose to an extent what's going on there is when people become impassioned enough to talk about something constantly then they sometimes fall into intellectual oubliettes.

Whatever.

This started off as something completely different. Maybe one day I'll write that story, who knows. Don't expect much, folks.

I used to write short fics and post them all the time. I can't remember why I stopped that. Maybe I'll try that again for a while. There better be Castiel this week on SPN or Ima riot.
