syncope at 03:00pm on 05/09/2008What is all this "Independent Convention" nonsense? If you don't watch CNN on endless loop: it's some shit Lou Dobbs is up to. How "independent" is that douche? Gimme a break. I can't believe he's STILL on tv. I've been hating on him steadily as far back as I can remember, I mean, it has to be middle school!
CNN is annoyed that people in Myrtle Beach aren't panicking about Hanna. GTFO, disaster porn purveyors. Christ.
So it looks like I get to vote twice this year. The Canadian election's OOOOOOON, too. A lot less angst there. If Bob Ray were the Liberal leader I think I'd even vote Liberal this time around, but as it stands, the party's trying to strangle itself w/ Dion so that puts my vote squarely communist (read: NDP). Dion was such a crap choice. I'm not a huge fan of the Liberals to begin with, but that was typical self-destructive bullshittery. (I think Los Angeles should be it's own riding.)
Eliza Dushku's mom is a famous Mormon feminist? OKAY! How Mitt Romney totally sucks. You know, that's utter bullshit on a human level.
I got that link (and truthiness) from stoney's brilliant Twilight analysis. It's a deconstruction of the Stephanie Meyers' books in light of her LDS faith. It's quite illuminating (and freakin' HILARIOUS). I find Mormonism endlessly intriguing in that way where I'm all "what..wait, is this REAL?" Stoney also has lots of other posts about LDS (insider's knowledge, what's not to LOVE?).
I guess I could wash some dishes or otherwise be productive...or I could write vampires.
