It's official: I've lost my entire mind.
My own story just made me break down cry. WOW. Talk about emo.
I think I'll upload some music in honor of my continuing spiral into the black abyss of ridic.
OKAY! What happened to mediafire? God, I hate change (just like all of you bitching your faces off about delicious. Betrayed by new coding!).
Yeah Sapphire - The Hold Steady I have NO IDEA why, but this song screams Frank to me. When I jog I listen to it and think about him. Yeah. Send help STAT.
It's Not a Side Effect (blah blah blah, hundred word title) - Fall Out Boy Obvs, I'm listening to a lot of FOB lately. This is the simple truth: I like the old shit way more than Infinity. B Sides, Evening Out, and Take This To Your Grave will probs always be my favorite FOB work. That is unless what Pete's saying in his oh-so-subtle blog about the new direction of the band is that they're going to make another pop punk record. I can sacrifice chickens in hope. A little while ago I read this review of Take This To Your grave on a website w/ cred and laughed my ass off over how much they loved it. They also called Pete the singer. HAHAHAH Oh wow, stunning fail, dickhead.
Love Will Tears Us Apart - Fall Out Boy This track was one of the ones that sort of turned my head in Patrick's direction. I liked Cork Tree well enough, and Pete's always been a source of random amusement for me. But I somehow ended up with this song on my iPod and I was struck by how good PATRICK was. His voice in my ears...just. Hm. Yes. I think he was like, what, twelve when they recorded this? What did you even know about the content of this song, baby Patrick? And yet it doesn't even matter because you killed it.
The Music or the Misery - Fall Out Boy This is in heavy rotation as my ringtone (along w/ "Super Massive Black Hole" by Muse and "The Sharpest Lives" by that dumb goth band everyone seems to love). I upload this song for the three people who read my lj that aren't slavishly devoted to Pete's Wentz's stupid antics. It's pretty much the summary of every single thing about the dude in ONE SONG. "It's true romance is dead, I shot it in the chest and head. If you want to go down in history, then I'm your prince...it was never about the songs, it was competition..." AND SO ON. It's quite a stunning little look into the dude's head. Jenn said about it "I can't believe the label let him put that on a record." Yeah, exactly. "I'm every cliche, but I simply do it best." Oh god, you're right, Pete, I give up; you win!
Just Rock and Roll - Midtown Now I know that Gabe Saporta has this whole schtick going on with day-glo clothes and necklaces w/ pink vampire fangs (no, really, this is apparently his new thing). But before he gave up and threw up both his middle fingers to the world, he was in an earnest punk rock band. This band ROCKED. The opening of this song just slays me. GOD I WISH I COULD HATE YOU THE REST OF MY LIFE! Yeah! Me, too!
Killer Parties - The Hold Steady I write a lot about parties. The Hold Steady writes a lot of songs about parties. As I've said before, if I could cook up the band I'd want to be in, this would be it.
You can see I'm being productive today. I AM going to go to the bank in a mo.
Oh well. Speaking of writing about parties, want some fic about a party?
( Vampires: I only want sympathy in the form of you crawling into bed with me. )
