syncope at 10:25pm on 29/05/2008When Jenn is linking me to absolutepunk, dude, the worm has turned! So, she was new to the Elisa leaves Cobra drama llama rodeo, maybe you are, too? Honestly, even better than Gabe's comments (and there ain't much better than Gabe casually tossing off yeshiva language, brothers and sisters) are the comments. Everything about stupid people obsessed w/ bands is going down in those comments. It's all so tragically punk rock I am about to make myself a drink and settle in for all three pages to laugh my ass off (I'm actually composing remarks about this post for elsewhere). It amuses me pretty hard how so many of these people (who are TOTALLY people I'm sure I'm unlucky enough to know in RL) just miss the entire boat of what CS is and Gabe's saying w/ this band.
Not addressing his rep (which, you know, frankly is pretty abysmal) but just the remarks themselves, if he's being earnest there (and I don't think so) he's like the most perfect sweet punk rock guy ever in the history of the planet. It would be nice to think such a person existed, however, I tend to believe he's a manipulative control freak who couldn't stand not having his say. That doesn't make me love him less, as I have been VERY ANGRY ABOUT WHAT PEOPLE SAY ABOUT ME ON THE INTERNET myself, with attendant mouthing off, people supporting me in emails, and making myself look worse by even admitting I knew it was going on. He's a master of rhetoric, though, and I am impressed all over again by his argument stylings. He should have been a lawyer like his father probably wanted.
I particularly like, in the comments, the people who are personally offended by Gabe daring to do something besides Midtown. Fandom, it's not all you! The fanboys on AP are just as insane! Gaaaaaaaaaaabe, how could you betray us like this???? Your new band sucks and I hope you get the clap and brain syphilis! It sounds like me talking about Pete. So very tragic. The asshole scene boy calling Beckett a girl and insulting his obviously female fab is sort of the reason for my current existence. Maaaaaaaaaaaan, that burns me up like paper on fire. FUCK YOU, dude!
