HELLO, random day!
When do you give up and finally admit you're not really gonna read the crap you have open in tabs? I am verging on it with my current tabs that have been open for I think...four days? That's not really all that long, but I feel that none of what's open will really be read, so it's about that time.
Z sent me this so I'm sending it to everyone else. It looks like this guy is about to break, so sorry if this song ends up on a car commercial or something. I apologize ahead of time.
Yesterday, I landed on this link: smart bitches diss a novel
And then this email exchange happened:
Me: *link* hahahaha
Jenn: 'I'm in ur ass, saving ur life' is what gerard whispers to frank every night.
Me: YOU SAID THAT!
The funny part is that I have read more than one fic that really did hinge around life-saving butt sex. I mean, it's a well-established theme and in SGA, it makes up, what, a third of the stories at least?
Then I surfed around this brilliant Cafe Press store that googleads apprised me of. Googleads KNOWS I need a Mrs. Way t-shirt.
I think we could be much more creative w/ the t-shirts, though. Now I'm thinking about unicorns vomiting blood and suicidal jackalanterns. Sadly, for the world, I can not draw, so my plans to make cracked out MCR t-shirts are stillborn. BUT STILL.
Podcast with Evelyn Fox Keller. I'm sure some people who see this link will have very strong opinions about her already--I can think of a couple off the top of my head--but whatever you think of her science, she's an intriguing lady and has a lot to say about women in science. (If you don't know who she is, you're not a dumb-dumb or anything, she just happens to be a titan in my small intellectual pool Evelyn Fox Keller.) I recommend this podcast in general--some of the people they've had on are slightly more...hm, insane? than others, which makes for a great program. Ideas is awesome when it doesn't suck. The other day they had this Quebecois historian on that actually almost bored me to tears. I mean, I can listen to five part documentaries about the composition of paint and this dude actually got the boot.
