So, I made myself sick yesterday. Let's not discuss it, but I'm better now. I'm currently eating ham salad (for those of you not from the glorious American South, this is the way Southerners make ham EVER WORSE for you by slathering it with mayo and glomping it together with pickles) and contemplating shoveling the ends of the driveways.
Ok, snow shoveled. I heard FOB's version of "Beat It" on the radio while I ran everyone's errands (when did I become a home health aid?). I sort of feel like this sounds like a Patrick Stump solo number. When I hear more of the new tracks I will opine on this further, but it's pretty amazing the mark he's made on Pete's vanity imprint.
Zip of some random music
I put in "Beat It" for people who don't have a high school radio station in their area. I also put in the Roots/Pstump joint that baffles the fuck outta me. WTF is going on in this sooooooooooong? It's about dating an underage groupie? WTF?!!? Patrick! No! That is Pete's gig. (This song will be my favorite by next week.)
The other stuff is random:
Americans in Corduroys, One for Sorrow, and Mesa,Arizona by Jeffery Foucault because apparently I didn't spam you all ENOUGH w/ him before? Kelly emailed me about him this week, and I was sort of bemused since I thought I uploaded whole albums before. But for those of you who stumbled across me since that time--this guy is ineffably good.
Raining in Baltimore by Counting Crows for Wincon. I wish I could find the Mountain Stage recordings from before their first album came out. They were AMAZING and so much better than anything they ever recorded in a studio. I had it on a cassette tape I've lost.
A Song for You by Whiskeytown. This is a cover of a very seminal song, before Ryan and I started fighting with knives.
Invincible by MUSE (take that, Jenn! Suck an egg!) This is currently my favorite band.
Lines on Palms by Josh Pyke. This was my top favorite song from the Ozzie Hot List 100 whatevs that was compiled for the internets by
i_naiad. Whoever has a whole album and brings me it will get a favor from me to be redeemed later.
Division Street by Thursday. I LOVE THIS SONG. I keep uploading it in hopes someone will agree.
When You're Loved Like You Are and Montreal by Of Montreal. This band angers me by not always sucking. If you don't know that much about scenster bullshittery, Vampire Weekend are the new Of Montreal. BLAH. I like them both sometimes and want to stick my head in a bucket.
Date Rape by Sublime. This erases the taint of the previous.
ETA: Sexsomnia: as someone who sleep walks, I would like to know why I wasn't blessed with sexsomnia instead. (re: law and order)
