I listen to a lot of podcasts--mostly news related. I don't like getting my information from American news sources (unless it's Anderson Cooper or on Comedy Central), and I like to cast a wide net as far as international news sources go.
Anyway, this has nothing to do with that. Some podcasts I listen to are ridic (Retrocrush) and some are tailored to me personally, Search Engine. This show is a CBC Radio One program all about the internet. They cover wacky sites and all that, but they also follow trends (like Anonymous) and discuss matters near and dear to fannish hearts--like what anonymity on the internet means to wider culture. The most recent show has this really intriguing set of interviews with an anonymous blogger from this site and the President of the CBC. What I find interesting here is that we have come to a place where the president of a national (and here national means OWNED BY THE NATION) broadcaster feels it's acceptable and necessary to reply to anonymous criticism on the internet. Criticizing the CBC is a national pastime in Canada, so the fact that CBC employees want in on that is not surprising--what IS is that Dude comes from On High and busts up in the comments.
As an aside, right now on the CBC is a all guys knit-off !!! Oh, they're musicians, too! This is amazing. Knit, men, knit!

Other things:
Hipster Olympics <-----work of epic epicness. I don't even know where to START, but maybe with the diss on Vice magazine?
By the same cats: Terrorist Bloopers
Great, it's like a blizzard here.
In other news: my computer is broken in a NEW way. I feel like my computer and I are in an mutually abusive relationship where we both know it's over and really hate each other's guts but don't know how to move on.
