One of these days I'm going to wild out at the grocery store over people not respecting the sanctity of the express line. Yesterday I got behind the singularity of bullshit: one person buying a week's worth of groceries (this far exceeded 15 items) followed by someone writing a check. STOP WRITING CHECKS, IT'S 2012. I fucking hate check writers. UGH! Also what happened to people waving you through ahead of them when you have a gallon of milk (only) and they're buying enough food for a soccer team? COMMON DECENCY HAS DIED. /old southern person who does not like yankee ways or assholes

I'm even more surprised than you that I watched this.

First off I have to make the (gotta be) controversial comment that I like both their hair(s). I also like Duke's hair on Haven and that's 6 or a half dozen. With Dean I can pretend Jensen's finally going grey, which I've been waiting on since I met him. PLEASE PLEASE GO GREY, JENSEN. I guess they have top-notch barbers in purgatory. Also, Dean's wearing a Sam shirt. I'm sure others have mentioned this.

Ok. So once again Sam's alone and floundering? Hmmm flounder.

I typed up some shit here that I erased because now I have to be mad. Why the FUCK would Sam not look for Dean? Excuse me, what the fuck show is this? Why isn't Dean MADDER. Shit, I would have hit Sam in the face with a skillet. And I'm a Samgirl. Jesus.

Ok what even is this plot that Sam just stopped? I understand from a storyteller's perspective that Sam not giving any fucks is plot point gold, but...for the character himself? UGH! God.

Is the title of this episode a word play on "There's Something About Kevin"? If so, how many people have even seen that movie/read the book?

ok, this is something that really bothers me about what's happened in the last few seasons: both of them have been through literal hell, so why all the forced nondisclosure tension? I mean if anyone in the world could get it, it would be each other, right? Why bother all the "I'm not expressing myself" shit? UGH. Jensen is really hot.

The Sam dog flashback cracked me up. Oh god, is the whole season going to be like this? I fucking hate directv if so.

FLASHBACKS WOT???????? Who is writing this shit?

Kevin is pretty awesome. The whole Princeton thing was pretty racist.

Crowley + goats = the best thing in the episode.

The "it gets better" exchange was nice. Well played.

I really hate the term meatsuit. Like a lot.

The new bad guy. Idk. I hate fake southern accents so much, especially with a show where the two leads could code switch so easily. UGH.

The dudes are hot. The writing is very sketchy.

so sketchy in fact that despite the hotness I had to quit ... four? five? [what season is it?] ago.

Yeah, Idk. I guess I'm a completionist. If it keeps happening, I'll keep watching, like SV.

lol!! I didn't finish that show out either. I am uncomfortably excited about Arrow ...

I have many feelings about that show. It's not my boy for one. But then it's an Arrow show...it will be cancelled immediately I worry. Also I have directv so I have to dl anything on CW which sucks.

I just hope that at moments it'll give us SV at it's best and not its worst.

I wish Hartley would have been cast, he gives me feelings

I didn't know that about Dtv. The whole broadcasting system is such a racket

Like I've written elsewhere, I think that there is way to the story than what they've shown us on the surface so far. Besides what they told us with Dean, I definitely think that something else is going on with Sam, too. That there's a whole lot we don't know yet. Look at his body language while he's waiting to find out if the dog is going to live or die. He's practically vibrating his way out of that chair.

Plus, I just went back and re-watched the scene where Dean asked if he looked for him and Sam didn't answer him. He deflected like crazy and his expression just looked off. In no way does he look like someone who just took the year off for 'me' time.

I think that, just like Dean, there's a hell of a lot we don't know yet as to what really happened while they were apart. I don't think that Sam just went off to happy land, I truly believe that something else is going on here.

Well, it is just the premiere, so there's more to the story, for sure.

I hope you're right that there's more to what's happening with Sam, but him abandoning the girlfriend (and dog) don't bode well in my mind.

I don't in any way think Sam was HAPPY with Dean gone. I just don't know what I think in general with him. But I'm sure he was sad/angry.

I agree 200%! NO WAY did Sam really lived a "normal life"!!!

I laughed a lot during this. Familiar reaction, indeed!

Except the hair. Sam's hair - like Duke's - is ridiculous. (I know, I know, different strokes...but still!)

I typed up some shit here that I erased because now I have to be mad. Why the FUCK would Sam not look for Dean? Excuse me, what the fuck show is this?

SO MUCH THIS! Jesus fuck. Come ON!

I understand from a storyteller's perspective that Sam not giving any fucks is plot point gold, but...for the character himself? UGH! God.

Yeah, too bad their plot point gold doesn't work coming from their characters.

both of them have been through literal hell, so why all the forced nondisclosure tension? I mean if anyone in the world could get it, it would be each other, right? Why bother all the "I'm not expressing myself" shit?

Because they're shit at writing actualfax drama?

FLASHBACKS WOT???????? Who is writing this shit?

God, YES!!! Apparently we really are brain twins. I am dying BUT IT'S NOT FUNNY!

Crowley + goats = the best thing in the episode.

AHAHAHA! Indeed.

In summation: I could have just linked to your post instead of expressing my own rage.

~glossy glossy boy hair

The weird part is I usually hate long hair on men. I wonder if I hit my head recently and don't remember.

I felt like there were so many characterization flaws in this episode that if it had been a fic I would have hit the back button in the first act. Sam doesn't look for Dean. Ok. That's kind of like the sea being up and the sky under your feet. No. I mean, they sell their souls for each other, go to literal hell, go through hideous torture, but then Sam's just all "Meh, I'm gonna adopt a dog"? Hopefully there's a lot more to this, but why have this sort of weird issue in the premiere? It's just bad storytelling...

...which brings me to the flashbacks. What can even be said? This is so universally a bad writing trope that Jane Austen probably wrote screes about it in her diary.

I'm hoping this was some set up for LOLBODY SWAP or something, but they've done all those plots, so probably not.

Oh well, Dean was wearing a cowboy shirt.

jensen, like rdj, is just getting hotter and hotter as he gets older. i don't know if i think jared is going to age as well.

Jensen looks fierce with his old man haircut and eye wrinkles. I think his beard is probably partly grey in RL since it's so red. Why must he torment us by not letting us see this?

Yeah, Jared isn't the same kind of beast. He probably knows how to bbq well, though.

amen to that. but omfg the dudes are hot (Jensen seems to take it up a notch this season. He is ageing FINE)
ITA on the WTF re Sam not going after Dean. Because he met a dog. Yes. THAT MAKES SO MUCH SENSE.

Crowley + goats is my new OTP.

and I'm not crazy about the Sam hair, dude. But it's not as bad as what happened to the character.

I need to go out to the farm and take some pictures of my mom's goats for the people.

I know the hair will be the big controversy this season. I'm Team Pro-Hair. Slap Fight at dawn.

I have to agree with Jensen's aging. I've been wanting him to get older ever since he popped up on this show. He's one of those guys who gets hotter as he ages and BLOWS YOUR MIND. Which is why I want the grey hair.

posted by [identity profile] elzed.livejournal.com at 11:11pm on 04/10/2012
plus, as he gets older, he seems closer to me in age (yes, I know, seems). ;) Yeah, grey would be a nice touch.

I won't got to duelling level for Sam's hair. Just the occasional sigh and shake of the head.

and you should totally post pics of your mom's goats! If you can get Mark Sheppard to pose with them, even better...

Personal pet peeve: young mothers who clearly have just dropped their children off at school doing the family's grocery shopping at 8:30 AM on a weekday when I'm picking up two, three things for my work lunch... who I then have to wait behind. It's always older people who wave me ahead of them, and then I feel like a jerk, because they're old.

Tbf, if by old you mean elderly people then don't feel bad because going to the grocery store is a social experience for many of them bc they're socially isolated.

Yeah, I made that depressing.

Whenever I see people buying a ton of groceries in the express line, I want to actually fucking beat them with a brick in a pillowcase. They're clearly sociopaths who don't think the rules apply to them, and probably use the time they save by fucking over the other people in line to hit small animals with their cars on purpose, or beat their children, or vote republican.

I've become very intolerant of human beings in general in the two years I've worked this job, because most of them are assholes or morons or both. Far as I'm concerned, many people should be barricaded into their own homes with their stupid jerk families and have MREs dropped via helicopter through holes in their roofs so they don't inflict themselves on the public. If they act up or try to escape, drop a box of angry scorpions instead of food. They will learn, and their terrible stings will be a testament to the very not-fucking-aroundness of my regime.

............i'm becoming a really weird fascist oops

Um, Supernatural! Did they ever get to finish that thing they were doing with the stuff or the guy or Satan or whoever how is this show still on the air.

You are the light of my life.

I have actually been known to say to someone busting ahead of me (and my two things) with their full cart "excuse me, you know this is the express line, right?" Public shaming is so Puritan it makes me double American.

YOUR COMMENT IS A BALM TO MY SOUL AND I WOULD VOTE FOR YOU. If only there was a politician that would pander to me this hard running for Congress.

okay the people not waving me through when I have a jug of milk and bread and they have fifty things? fucking drives me nuts. I let my grubby kid loose to bother them.

The check-writers and two carts of groceries people are so often the same people. I bet they leave their aircon on with the windows open in the summer time.

Why the FUCK would Sam not look for Dean? Excuse me, what the fuck show is this?

I don't even. It's not the show I signed up for though. Still, Jensen looked amazing in that first shot. Sometimes it's a good thing the show keeps the shallow. I can be distracted for a moment by the fact that Sam did not look for Dean WHAT?

The grocery store thing bugs me. I should say that someone let me in front of them recently. Which was nice and sadly unexpected. Maybe she was sensing my rage at humanity and desire to end them all. Still, it was super sweet.

Jensen looked amazing. I'll probably ride this bad boy out just watching half out of the side of my eye to see what they're wearing.

It does happen, yeah. It's normally older people.
